alright there i have dug out one of my old lil tanks its a rena 40 light 16" x 8" x 10" i have a got a interpet air pump airvolution av mini and a 28w heater im jus goin to set it up under my stairs just as a show tank so any idea's please feel free to tell me

it depends on whether it is heated or not

heated a few terta's and some shrimp

not heated betta dont mix too well with others

decorations what you want really just allow room to move freely

yes this will be heated i got a 28w heater think ill go for a betta n 6 neons or summit? could i still have a cpl cherry shrimp? and what bout female betta

if you want a betta, stick with one betta

neons and betta dont really mix plus there wouldnt be enough room for them all as neons are quite an active fish

Go for the betta with a few plants and a rock as a centre piece

I'd go for a nice male betta.

For plants you will need low light ones, things like Java fern, anubis nana, elodea densa, java moss.
I think a nice small piece of bog wood with either anubis nana or java fern attached to it, then a nice decorative rock for the centre piece.

The rock on the left looks like a good rock for the centre piece, or do you want bigger?
The other rock looks like live rock?

Do you want to go planted? or just have a simple looking low maintinance tank?

I couldn't remember the name of it!

That looks great! Quite like the blue gravel and if you got a red betta it would stand out loads.
