Try to move the fizture off of the tank keeping it as far away from you as possible. Thick leather gloves would be great with a long sleeve shirt on rubber banded around the gloves( im sure you dont want him crawling up your arm. and shoot the little bastard with some brake clean, he will shrivel up instantly we had a problem with black widows in my automotive college classes, and that seemed to take care of em'. hope this helps. discoonect electrics, drop the lighting in the water (assuming your tubes are waterproof) - instant live fish food

So I was browsing TTF when I saw something moving from the corner of my eye. I turned just in time to see this huuuuge black widow spider letting itself inside the lightfixture via one of the holes.

Instinctively, I put cellotape on the holes to trap it. Now I'm looking at it, and I know I can't keep the cello on there for long. How long will it take for the spider to starve off and die? I'm quite clumsy, I wouldn't dare try to shake the spider out, specially since it's venomous. With my luck, it would probably land on me anyways

Any solutions???
