hi b4 xmas i lost 10 fish i was told it was amonia we used amo lock and did water changes never worked kept dieing the amona thing was about a month ago the man in my lfs suggested do a compleet gravel change empty water and fish clean and put back we did this fish were fine then they got fungus im guessing through stress from moving them i have lost majority of my fish had water tested and done my owen with strips its fine why are my fish dieing they dont have ne visible fungus any more or white spot my water is fine whats causing this?

majority of fish were mollys gourami and platy that died
my last sailfin passed away 2 day:(

you need a liquid test kit not strips, they are very inaccurate. you need to do at least 50% daily water changes until your ammonia and nitrite are at 0. Not a good idea to do 100% change, as this was likely cause of fungus as you say - stress.

my amonia and nitrate are both 0 i have had my water tested xmas eve and still fish dieing

When your tank is cycling and you have fish in it you need to test the water every day since big changes in water quality can happen in just 24hrs, you also need to read up on how the water quality in your tank works so you can understand how to make it better and what to do while your tank is cycling- the link in the article below is very good for explaining stuff like how water quality and cycling tanks work etc;

How many gallons is this tank and how long has it been set up for? How many fish did it have in it before the fish all started dying and how many fish do you have left in it now? Are any of the current fish displaying any odd symptons whether behavioral or physical etc, like hanging around at the surface, flicking/itching themselves against objects in the tank, gasping, bloody or cotton like growths or sores on the fishes bodies, tattered looking fins etc etc?
You said your fish got fungus, what did you use to treat the fish with for this problem? Plus do you use dechlorinator/water conditioner and how do you go about cleaning the filtration in the tank (you do have some right?)? Is the tank heated as well and what is the current temp in the tank do you know?

OK, you said your fish got fungus, could it be something else? One of my Gourami got something that looked fungus-ish but did not respond to anti-fungal meds. Someone here suggested Columnaris which is bacterial and highly contagious. (my fish recovered on it's own before I could try anti-bacterial meds but that does not rule it out)

You could try a combination treatment of Melafix and Pimafix and keep up daily water changes at around 30%-50% as super clean water can only help.

What fish do you have left? and as the previous post what size in litres or gallons is your tank? How many fish were there before the deaths?

Test your water daily, or even twice as the prev poster said stats can change dramatically in a short space of time. Also, try to avoid 'miracle fixes' like ammo-lock, they mask rather than cure an ammonia problem.

Instead of adding all that crap to your tank you should really just do daily water changes. And never clean out the whole tank, thats only going to kill more of your fish!!! It sounds like your not fully cycled. Answer the questions above about types of fish and size of tank to get better help. But it sounds to me like you may not be cycled. Invest in a liquid test kit!!!!!
