had a custom made tank made 96 x 30 x 30 inches. how shall I filter it and what should I stock?

advice gratefully received

[chiclids in the main. I have this big blank canvass & I don't know what to stock ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

best advise for that size tank would be pond filtration. Would be good to consider a self flooshing system with associated plumbing, to make mainanance easier.....pond media is supersize, and difficult to clean without flushing facilities. Also eases waterchanges :good:

Multiple large canisters would also work, but they will be far less efficient

Sounds like it will be an awsome tank

You have a couple of options for filtration either drill and sump it but this is noisy but is good. or 2 large canisters either fx5`s of pro 3`s. I use 2 fx`5s on my setup and there are filled with bio rings. I then use 2 eheim 2252 internals to polish my water. Also one of my fx5`s is connected to a uv. Dont bother with pond filters. As for stocking you could keep rays in that size tank and some good looking oddballs: Arowana, Stingrays, Large cats, Tigs, P.bass to name a few. Just some food for thought. Your tank isnt much smaller than mine so if you want any help just ask there is only a few of us on here with huge tanks so not to many people have to much knowledge on setting them up.
