Hi

I just got a 125 litre tank and been getting it ready cycling etc

I am thinking of getting the following

3 Silver Dollars
6 neon tetras
3 corys.
a ruby shark

would this work .. obviously adding them a few at a time and not all at once and probably starting with the silver dollars

Any problems with that ? I deffinately dont want guppies or mollies ;)

Would that be over stocked / fully stocked or have some wriggle room.

THanks for looking :)

Those silver dollars will outgrow your tank, I think.

Yeah the silver dollars wouldn't really be suitable for that size tank, they are schooling fish, so would prefer a group of 5+ rather than 3.

OK what about the rest

and any ideas for replacements to the silver dollars ?

I'd up the number of coys to 5/6.

As for silver dollar replacements .... without them you're left with mainly bottom-dwelling fish so something that occupies the higher levels would be good ... you could probably have a nice group of rainbow fish in there! or (my favourites) tiger barbs - though they can be a bit nippy so might limit what else you can put in there later.

I've also heard that ruby sharks can be quite territorial (although mine's a lamb) so you probably want to make sure you've got caves and other hiding places on the ground so he can stake out some territory.
