I got some fish for my 125 yesterday at PetSmart! I couldn't get over how good of fish they have (a lot better than PetCo.) I got 1 Midas, 1 Jack Dempsey, 2 Green Terros, 1 Texas cichlid. I also have 1 Albino Oscar and 1 Tiger Oscar in there from before. All around from 2-4 inches long. They are very fun to watch. They live with my turtles but my turtles don't seem to care. It's a 125 gallon tank.

First are the Midas, he/she was hidding

Sorry I couldnt get a decent picture of the Tiger oscar or the Jack Dempsey...The 'gold' africans are small Red Zebras.
The turtles are a breeding pair, 10 years old. Diamondback Terrapins

looks like its gonna be a nice setup once the fish grow up... i would get rid of the little fish, and turtles and just keep the cichlids :D

don't turtles need some kind of land to rest on? I know they need to breath actual air, and I imagine swimming all the time would get tiring...

Most turtles do need land to bask on.

Lovely fish and turtles ever considered sand as a substrate rather than gravel.

Well it looks like he has a basking spot out of the water (large pic, the beige thing top right that goes in the water). He needs one for each turtle though. *edit* and yes, ALL turtles need a basking spot to get 100% out of the water and dry. If they can't get their plastron etc 100% dry, shell rot and scute problems occur.

And as everyone has said, your fish are going to make a nice turtle-snack soon.

Also, gravel with turtles is a bad idea. It causes gut impaction.

LOL! The turtles are my main love. ..and the little fish will soon be food.
good! i just thot they would look nicer on their own :dunno:

Nice tank!

Esp. like the 2nd last pic of the turtles, where the one on the left looks like it's laughing/smiling. Although I do agree that you'll have to do some changing around in your tank.

In addition to the land areas that they need, they also produce a lot of waste. Your oscars will add to that too, which will only cause more problems in the future. (the dreaded HITH maybe?)

Funny how they're your main love, and yet you didn't research enough to house them properly...

LOL...thanks for all your imput guys and thanks for the compliments!

mmm...Discomafia, Def- I got my bachelors degree in Herpatology, so I know just a little about reptiles. :p I think I've housed them properly enough. A 125 gallon tank is pretty nice wouldn't you think? And, do you think I would be that stupid (for being here on the forum for as long as I have, and for being in the hobby for as long as I have for that matter) to not think that if I buy 7 aggressive cichlids that get well over 6 inches each, maybe even over 12 inches that they will all get along nicely in say 6 months? Of course they won't! That's why I have millions of other tanks in my basement, to rehouse them when needed, right now they are growing out! ;) But thanks for trying to teach me anyways.

The basking spot is 14 inches long, 9 inches wide, more than enough room for one 4 inch turtle and one 5 inches turtle to fit on together. Also there are 3 filters on the tank. Please, please don't tell me that I don't research. :D Anyways, past the arrogant comments... :D

pica_nuttalli, are you talking about fish or turtles?

jacbaldes, those guys are in there because they were the first fish ever to be in this tank and they have faired well so far. (and I'm too lazy to spend a half hour trying to catch them :p )

Wilder, accually, there is sand underneath the gravel, you just can't see it. Accually i do have a tank with pure sand but it bugs me because my cichlids stir it up and it breaks my filters, so I like to have a lining of gravel over it.

Thanks again! Glad you like it! :)

haha, I think additional filtration is the last thing you need in that huge understocked tank. Nice turtles by the way, is one of them a painted turtle? Whats the other with the black and white specs? :kewlpics:
