This is going to be my second attempt at achieving a raging river. I've built a pvc manifold that will incorporate an inline co2 reactor. I'm going with a paintball system due to my close proximity to a paintball place where I can get refills. I try to source everything I need for my builds locally within a 5 mile radius so that in the event of a system failure I can quickly source replacement parts. I plan on having a separate wet/dry overflow filter to keep oxygen levels high, so 2 pumps on this build. I plan on stocking orthochromis stormsi (hopefully breeding), synodontus brichardi (1 so far, looking for more), south american puffers, and a gaggle of various hillstream loaches. The current tank sits around 75 degrees now and they're all getting along. I'm really excited about upgrading to the new system. It's currently an 80 gallon with a 3/4" pvc manifold. The new tank is 1 1/2" so hoping for a real whitewater effect rather than just a strong current. Planning on dirt capped with pool filter sand.
Jungle val, anubias congonesis, and hopefully Madagascar lace - we'll see I've got one bulb in there now but it's struggling. Leaning towards lower congo-like but not necessarily a strict "biotope" by any means.
Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Excuse the mess, I'm in a creative whirlwind for sure right now
