12 Hours No Nirtite Or Ammonia?

Looks hopeful. The thing to do now is monitor with twice daily water tests for a week. If they all come up like that, you are good for a few more fish if you want. (I'm assuming you've been fish-in cycling here) :good:

All the best

yes, when it holds steady for a few consequtive days at 0,0 with no water changes then you're cycled and can add a few more fish. be minimal with the amount of fish you add or it'll start cycling again. i'd recommend adding no more than one third of the current fish load, some people say a half is fine but i think it's best to be patient and not push the limits. :good:

you can see what i have in my sig my next add will only be 1 more pepper cory and another 1 gourmai

Should be OK from a filtration stand point if you get zeros for a week without waterchanges :good:

One possible issue in the making though... You can only have one male dwarf gourami (the brighter coloured of them) in a tank that size, as two males will fight. You also want two females (the silver coloured ones) to each male, or the male will kill the female  This means one lone male or a trio of one male and two females :good:

would a lone gourmai be ok?

at pet at home they had loads of males in together in a smaller tank than mine?

i dont really like the look of the females and have no intention of beeding

what other commutiny fish would sit well with a gourmai hes a very scared little fella always hiding and when i turned the light off last night he went completly nuts banging into everything

He will be fine alone. You will often see things that work in shops that won't work at home. Cramming lots of males into a tank stops them fighting because they realise it isn't worth it for a 4" cube of space. This stresses them though and can lead to them developing disease problems if kept thus long-term

The Gourami will settle and calm down given time :good:
