12 Compartment Tank

oh didnt know you could do that tolak... thats very achievable then.. i would have to take all bettas out for a while as i did it but at least its a solution thanks

InaneCathode - the difference is i didnt ask what you thought about the size and whether it fits "the holy required minimum of 1 gal" i simply asked how i could go about cleaning it and got my head bit off, its not just me u only have to look at every 5th topic and someone is whinging and bitching about something or another... so what im saying is theres no problem providing ur opinion on something that someone asks for but when u go off topic in a scolding tone thats when people usually say mind your business...

fenwoman - i said '8 cm long 12 cm high and 15 cm width' you said '5 inches high and 6 wide with only 3 inches deep' ... its 3 inches across the front not 3 inches deep its 5 inches deep ... high and deep are the same thing its alot bigger than what u guys are picturing in ur mind and for a 5 cm long fish (if that) there is more than plenty room to swim around in... its alot bigger than the ones in the fish shop much better than the standard chinese container or pickle jar that loads of fish are kept in..

Dorkhedeos - its way too big to just take outside and dump the water out and it would probably break after a certain amount of time if it was always moving, i already thought about that option =) thanks tho

in fact i have no doubt if i keep the water clean, get a uv light and filter system that whatever fish i have in this tank will flourish...

p.s after going out with a tape measure and doing it properly (first time was just estimates) the exact measurements are

tank = 1.2 meters long
each compartment =
10 cm across the front (left to right) about 4 inches
20 cm width (front to back) about 7.8 inches
20 cm height (bottom to top) about 7.8 inches

that should calm at least half of you down.. but it was half my fault for not painting the right picture

anyways now i can syphon easy.. i will buy a uv light .. now my last question any ideas on how i should run a filter system anyone?

thanks

p.p.s InaneCathode - no they didnt say anything about activist or pita members they just said ask a question if u want but dont be surprised if someone doesnt bite your head off lol

Well a sponge filter in each compartment would be easy to do or a mini filter bought at a pet store but a sponge filter would be much cheaper.

hrmm, i just thought of something that might be able to save you a whole lot of time. get a airline T and attach short tubes to each side, and put it under the slit in the bottom. put a long piece of tubing on the top of the T and when you want to siphon, you just got to suck on that one and you siphon 2 pieces at once. just sweep it across and it should be clean :good: my original thought was a stationary version of this, so all had to do was start 1 or 2 for the the whole tank and get a stick and sorta guide the debris into the hole. if you the stationary tube in the middle and give the thing a quick swirl, all the crap should go towards the middle. something like this, hope it helps
