you may have seen my other thread about the high temp in my tank. i just went to wal-mart and bought a $12 9" fan that kicks a LOT of air. mounted it on a brace inside my stand pointing right above my fuge. right now its set at the medium level so i will watch the temp and see if it does the trick. the tanks been at a steady 85 F, i will update later tonight after the fan has been running for a few hours. i also had to replace my original partitioned sump due to a leak in the bottom seam, so i replaced it with a 20g high which catches the drains from the display, and also houses two skimmers and a uv sterilizer, this tank overflows into a 20g long which is setup as a refugium, and this tank overflows into a 15g plastic tub which is the return chamber.

haha right on..in all its mutated glory...i had to work around the franken-stand!

I hear that, got a nice franken-sump myself :D

Would bring an electrician to tears if he saw it :shifty:

tank is now at a steady 82

do you think i should put the fan on high setting and lower the temp a little more?

A steady 82 is OK, my tank is at a steady 83 all summer. Just keep an eye on it as temps rise, especially if the room is not air conditioned
