Ok, So I have an Arcadia Arc 35L tank which im setting up for DP's (2 of them), im just wondering what kind of plants would survive with an 11w bulb? And if there are any nice cheap plastic ones that create kind of hiding places etc. that you know of say on ebay or somthing.

Cheers :good:

you really dont want plastic plants, there is nothing compared to the live thing, but with low lighting like that you are either looking at crypts, anubias, cambomba, hornwort, moss, and ferns

I like the anubias

would most other plants just die then?

put it this way, even with the list i have given you i dont think the moss will thrive, dont get me wrong it will survive, as will the others. but in theory you could still have a nice tank, as long as you dosed ferts correctly, some nice java fern, with anubias nana and barteilli, then some crypts

it will be ok as long as you dont want any of the plants i havnt mentioned

Well I'm having serious issues keeping my plants happy. I'm running 40W on 33 US Gals which is 1.2WPG, pretty much the same as you.
And unless the new reflectors I'm going to make really do a good job I'm going to have to switch to purely low light plants.
It was Ok while the lights were on for about 16hours a day...but when I cut that down to more like 8 the problems started

Some

Im just asking though, are DP's ok with plastic plants? I know fairly sharp plastic ones should be avoided as they have sansative skin.

How about silk plants instead of plastic ones? They are supposed to look nicer that the plastic ones but don't have the pesky habbit of needing light that the real ones seem to have. :good:
