I wouldnt bother with the firemout.

I have 2 angels & 2 red dwarfs in my tank, they're cheeky and entertaining to watch. Keep a male and a female dwarf if you want the best colours from the male and two males may scrap.

You can, but only few. For example Keyhole Cichlid.

I know it all comes down to the if's but's and maybes but i have steady 7.4 ph in my main tank and it house several types of tetra, frogs, loach, balloon/bolivian and german rams, corys, hatchets and glass cats very happily.

I would check with any fish you buy what temp/ph your LFS keeps theres at.

Blue Rams would be my fish of choice, I'll have a look around a see who stocks them locally to me and what their water stats are.

I think I'll leave the Chichilds then, I don't want to put any fish in danger just to make my tank look good!

Dwarf Gouramis and Angels (pair of each) are probably the fish I'll go for, that's if I can't source any Rams which will be okay with 7.2pH...

I've decided, I think....

Going for:

6 Cardinal Tetras
6 Congo Tetras
6 Panda Cories
2 Angel Fish
2 Bolivian Ram
1 L260 Queen Arabesque Pleco

If that's too overstocked for a 110L tank, I'll drop the 6 Cardinal Tetras or maybe the Angel Fish?...

I decided for Bolivian Rams over German Blue Rams due to their hardy-ness... I didn't want to take the risk of 7.2pH with the Blues...

Well, after visiting my LFS over the weekend to pick up some plants and fertiliser, I've decided to scrap the Congo and Cardinal Tetras... Black Neons shall be my Tetras of choice. I fell in love with them straight away, stunning fish, comical to watch and beautiful colours!

Will they be okay in pH 7.6 - 8? I'll also have the fish in the above list, will they be fine in quite a high pH?

have a look at rummynose tetras. i would consider only 1 angelfish in that tank as they may very well end up being aggressive to one another. bolivian rams should be fine in that pH, the more important water parameter (outside of zero ammonia/nitrite) is usually hardness and the fish uve listed all prefer soft water. aside from the bolivian and blue rams u could also have a look at some apistogramma species such as a. agassizii, a. panduro, a. baenschi, a. cacatuoides etc.

I'll have to invest in a kit to test the hardness of my water, I haven't a clue.

So having a re-think, does this look okay?:

6 Black Neon Tetras
6 Panda Cories
2 Apistogramma Cacatuoides (m+f)
2 Bolivian Rams (m+f)
1 Angel Fish
1 L260 Queen Arabesque Pleco

Would they all get along okay? I'd maybe go without the Angel Fish completely if overstocking was an issue?

EDIT: Apistogramma Cacatuoides, the males tail is out of this world!

Well...

Quick up date.

Over the past two weeks I've added 6 Emperor Tetras and 6 Leopard Cories.

They all seem really happy, the Tetras are mesmerising to watch and the Cories are just hilarious, full of character! They love swimming through the bubbles out the air pump at the back of the tank.

Will hopefully be adding a Firemouth soon., just hope it won't bother the other fish, any ideas?

Cory's are looking great Ryan

Just keep an eye on the water parameters whilst the filter bacteria multiplies to handle the waste added by the new fish.

Really glad I went for the Leopards over the Pandas. They were pretty shy to start off with, but now they're full of beans.

I'm testing every other day, making sure all is well! All good to date

Yea, I had the intention of getting BNTs' but the Emperors were too beautiful to turn down!

Looking to add a pair of Apistogramma Cacatuoides (m+f) and a L260 or 411 to finish off the tank. Maybe a couple of extra Leopards and ETs' to make up the numbers.
