Hey,

I recently obtained a 380 litre(100 us gallon) tank which is equipped with
a sump filter, UV filter and a couple of power heads for water circulation.

I have 4 angels and 5 clown loaches and i know the angles can get pretty
big..about 6 inches ive heard and i know the loaches can get up to 12 inches but take
a very long time to grow to that size.

My angels are now about 3 inches in length and 4 of my loaches are 4-5 inches
except for one which is about 6 and a half.

Do you think I'm overstocked and if not can you please give me any ideas of what
other interesting fish i can add to the tank?

thankss for your help=]

i would hop over to the loach forum with the dimensions of the tank and check that it's big enough for the clown loachesw long term. you're right that they are slow growers but they will eventually need a big tank, I think 100 gals will be borderline if it's big enough or not so best ask the experts.

not overstocked though, the " per gallon thing doesn't really apply with larger fish like this, more about territories, swimming room and bio load.

we'll assume that the filtration is good for the sake of argument.

i wouldn't put any more fish on the bottom assuming the loaches can stay but you've certainly room for some more mid-top water swimmers.

do you want some more largeish fish or a few shoals, you could go either way to be honest with the angels and clown's. can't go for really small shoals like neons as the angels will eat them but any of the 2"+ tetra type things would work or a nice shoal of rainbows, something like that.

the tank is 4ftby2ft and is 20 inches high if that helps and i think getting a shoal of rainbows is a good idea

thanks for your reply=]

Hi monkey_wrench
in a 4x2 i'd say your clowns would be fine for upto even a couple of years,
(mine have grown from very skinny 1 inch long fish into 3-4 inch chunky fish in about 13months)

You should be fine to add a nice shoal of Rainbows,
