quick update , the male jacobfreibergi has been trying to get the female to spawn all day long , hes not quite managed to convince her yet , but it looks like hes slowly winning her round . could have my very 1st holding female soon with any luck

I have no choice about getting more fish, the ones that have been ordered were hubby`s choice except for the neon spot which I was 'allowed to add' so unless hubby wants more later on it doesn`t matter how many times I watch Tony`s vids.......because I won`t be allowed to buy any more anyway

The video of the female being stripped is really good, I found it quite fascinating to watch

any time you want more fish just keep showing huby pics of random malawis , it cant fail!! i think ive found my next additions . did you see daveyboys astatotilapia calliptera pics? hes breeding them , and should have some juvies ready to go in a couple of months . those males are lovely

and whats this about you watchin females being stripped??? you sure you were on the right chanel?

hmm, hubby hits a point where he says "No more", plus the Malawi tank is more his interest at the mo......well for now anyway I haven`t seen daveyboys post about the astatotilapia calliptera, can you point me in the right direction?

Females stripping........I haven`t turned to the dark side and I`m never likely to so yes, I was watching the right channel!

youre not going to be fully stocked with what youve ordered i dont think . i asked tony when i ordered mine if thats was my limit stock-wise , and he said god know youve still got room for more . and your tank isnt much smaller than mine . just show hubby some pretty pictures and explain he needs more fish to spread agression if that fails just pout and throw as hissy fit

The good thing with the Malawi though is that you don`t have to stock it full, so at least we`ll have some time to let the fish grow a bit and then possibly add more later on

The media stuff I`d ordered turned up this morning and I`ve just spent blimmin ages cutting the jap matting.....it`s horrible stuff to cut and my hands are red raw now Mind you, the tank is completely ready for the new fish now. Hopefully delivery will be sorted for Wednesday

happy days!!! how hard was the sump to set up etc? ive often wondered that. have you used mature media from your other tanks? what is jap matting anyway? never heard of it .
