I have a big @$$ puddle of water otherwise known as a 10 gallon fish tank. I wanna put something it it. First off I was gonna put in some SW fish but I'm still a little wary of it due to price and I've heard 10 G really isn't the way to go for SW fish, so scratch that idea.
So I'm thinking of a FW tank, hexk I already have what I need. So I'm thinking maybe a species tank, below is a list of fish I am hoping you'd tell me If I can put 'em in there. Remember, species tank, so I will only put the same fish in:

Jelly-Bean Cichlids?
Angelfish?

Or I may do a community with 5 jell bean cichlids, a guppy, 2 orange swords, 2 corys and 2 2 red cherry shrimp?

Neither of those is suitable for anything smaller than a 30 gallon. Guppies, Swords and Cories would be fine and so would the shrimp.

But jelly bean cichlids are small, I can't use them?

if the jellybeans are parrot X convict hybrids then you could get away with two in a ten gallon. As long as the male is atleast twice the size of the female. You wouldn't want to put anything els in there unless it's food. A regular parrot or "jellybean parrot" (otherwise known as a dyed parrot) will not work they need a much larger tank

Thanks

How many Neolamprologus multifasciatus can I put in a 10 Gallon tank?

I'd go with a pair. Chances are you'll be bursting at the seams with fry within a few months anyways.

They're one of the easier shelldwellers to get but it's sometimes hard to get shelldwellers depending on where you live. They're readily avaliable online though.

Swords in a 10 gallon? Surely not. Would you put a hyper-active 4 inch fish in an 18 inch tank? And swords kept in a confined space often grow very aggressive.

The shellies sound a much better idea.

Are swords really that tempermental? I don't remember ever seeing them be problematic in 10g's before. I haven't kept them since I was a kid so maybe my memory is fuzzy.

The swordtails I have aren't 4 inches long. I guess there swords. They are more like an inch long.
