Hi everyone

Once I get my tank all set up and cycled, I'm hoping to get some guppies (1 male, 2 females), 5 neon tetras, 2 harlequin rosboras and a type of algae eater or scavenger. I think that may be a little too crowded though, since that's definitley more than 10 inches of fish.

10 gallons isn't alot to work with so I'm looking for suggestions on what to put in mine, and maybe some of you could list what you had in your's.
Feel free to suggest what fish should be crossed off of my list- I'm not too picky, as long as I get to keep the guppies!

Thank you :)

Stay clear of chinese algae eaters. Once they get older or to about 3/4 inches ( i think) they seem to get a taste for protein. This means they will go for fish. Had this problem and ended up with a couple of deaths.

3 Female guppies and 1 male, would work fine. You'll want to htink about what you'll want to do with the babies though as they can mass produce quite quickly...

A tank with 3female guppies and 1 male and 5 neons would work. Think about adding shrimp or a snail instead of having an algae eater.

Thanks for the heads up about their aquired taste for protein  Forgive me if they're the same thing, but what about a pleco?

Good point about all the babies, that slipped my mind. I don't reckon there's any way to really avoid this, besides keeping all males or all females...?

Basically I'll put anything in this tank that will fit comfortably, are compatible with guppies, and pretty to look at. :fun:

Good news! I'm going to go check out a 20 gallon tank tomorrow. I saw an ad in the paper and its pretty cheap so I couldn't let it slip away. More fishes! :D And I'll have an extra 10 gallon tank on hand.

I would actually like some mollies instead of guppies now, since I think it is time for a change- I've had guppies since I was a kid. So I was thinking of some panda cories, mollies, and harlequin rasboras and maybe some neon tetras. If someone could help me figure out how many of each speices and if that's an okay setup, that'd be great :)

BTW, could anybody tell me how to modify my posts after I've already posted them? I can't seem to figure it out!
