hello I was wondering if putting a betta and some Cory would be good in a 10 gallon I plan to use live plants as well

Yes and no. Depends on the temperament of the betta. And there are fewer species of cory that work in ten gallons. The Pygmy cory is ideal for this. They need larger schools to thrive, 10 is the minimum but more is better.

I had a ten with a sizable colony of cherry shrimp, 4 endlers, 10 Pygmy cories and a betta and it worked out really well. The tank was heavy with plants. Some people have stories of bettas that beat up any fish that is housed with them so you should do this with caution. Be ready to separate them.
