could i keep in a 10 gallon successfully
6 male guppys
1/2/3 dwarf gouramis (bit more info plz 1 2 or 3)
6/12 shrimp

im not sure about the guppies/shrimp, or how many of those they recommend, but for a 10 gal you could pull off 1 honey gourami or 1 dwarf gourami. you could pull off more sparkling gouramis, but i dont know alot about those, they are actually unavailable for me to get at any store or online....

the guppies sound fine.
you should get 2 gouramis. a pair that swim together at the lfs. there generally a breeding pair
and shrimps will be fine they count as zero on your bio load (well they do but hardly anything to count)

Defo get 2 gouramis. Dont want the one to be alone now!

Guppies work well with gouramis. They leave eachother alone.

Shrimp I would watch out with. Aslong as its a well planted tank. I had my gourami eat it....well he atleast killed the shrimp. But mine wasn't that planted back then.

Put a good load of plants in there and that should be a peaceful community tank :):)

track you cant say that two fish swimming together are a breeding pair lol especially with gouramis
scot :)

i wouldnt put shrimps in with gourami to be honest, and i think two might be pushing it in a 10 gallon, later on when they mature there could be trouble, no where to run and no where to hide. di

I took that advise of a mate of mine and it turns out that that aint exactly true. I went to my local store and they had a range of males and females and the males were swimming together and the females were swiming together. So I dont think that that comment is something to depend on. Because I have 2 males and they always swim together?
