ok maybe im a tad biased lol but im really proud of my acara . hes got loads of colour really vivid blues which unfortunately my camera doesnt pick up too well. but anyway heres my boy.

thanks hes 1 of the most colourful ive seen. i keep trying to get 1 of him with his ventral fins extended as they have the most gorgous blue/red striping on them. but he hates the camera. took me all day just to get those 2 pics

they look really nice, supposed to very good community fish. Definatly something i would have if i had a little bigger tank to fit them in, think my 40g would be alittle harsh on him.

thanks. yes for a cichlid so close to a green terror they are surprisingly peacefull. 8 inches is possible but in aquaria 6 is more likely so you dont need a huge tank to house 1 . depending on the dimensions of the 40g you may get away with it if the acara was the only fish.

would you try to breed your F0 with another F0 to create an F1 which remains pure still?

in an ideal world yes i would however in the real world im not set up for it . havent got enough space to set up a breeding tank which leaves the option of either get rid of my other fish and find an F0 female or sell him to a breeder. neither of which im willing to do .

I just put my decoration in my tank that I'm putting together for a Blue Acara. I can't wait to finally have one after drooling over then for so long now. I still have to cycle my tank so I have another month to wait. my freaking filter i ordered was on backorder. grrrr.

Nice fish soon I too will have one.

I've always wanted a GT eventually until i saw the blue acara who makes everything a bit more easier for tank mates. all in good time i'll get one , want to go marine first. Nice looking fish
