At least the Koi may outlive you! That Betta's good for three years, tops.

if a heron doesn't get them. 5 star dining for them birds ;p

3 years of good diamond fish poop would allow your to retire early....but then again you breed them with other diamond pooping bettas lol legacy lives on

I just realized that on a sunday night, sipping my adult drinks playing the fish forum, that I am sitting here talking about fish pooing precious metals and gems.....did the drink hit me that hard?

Lol I'd love to have a fish pooping out diamonds and gold and diamond rings boy would I get rich fast. I doubt you'd see those at petco etc. ( I always feel sick looking in some of their tanks and seeing all the dead ones stuck to the filter and at the top floating. ). Then u get it home just to figure out it eats it's own poop and you must moniter it 24/7 to make any money. Lol.

You may just have a poor quality store. I love my petco

But then again, they have a true aquatic specialist who recommends fishless cycles

Well you see there's the nice tanks with the oscars loaches tiger barbs goiramis etc. All the nice ones right. Then you look into they're tanks with the cheaper platys swordtails guppies neon tetras glofish etc. And see a bunch of dead ones. Only buy my loaches plecs and cardinal tetras there and I'll get my oscars there if I ever get them. They're saltwater fish look nice and happy but i would never buy saltwater fish at a place like petco I'd drive more than 2 hours ( no longer than 3 as I wouldn't wanna stress it out too much ) for a separately owned saltwater or even freshwater fish store. Luckily I have both within 10 minutes of my house. Actually 2 of each within 10 minutes but still. I don't have a saltwater but I still love going in there and looking at all their fancy fish.

I do not have saltwater tanks so that is not an issue, but then again, my local petco is 2 miles down the road and petsmart is about 7. I feel i lucked out as both my local petco and petsmart have really good aquatic sections. I still prefer my two hole in the wall LFS for my more expensive fish, such as malawis and SA cichlids. Hell, I spent 70 dollars on 4 fish yesterday (it really hurt my feelings)
