The worms actually look like a tiny white maggots with each end having some sort of black spiney tip. they dont swim the just flop around and look like maggots.

Yes I am using food. Thats actually when I started to see them. Im thinking about taking my filter out, washing it, do a water change to suck them up and start over. What do you think?

I recently purchased a small spounge filter for my 10 gallon fry tank. I have heard that due to the fish food falling to the bottom of the tank, it is best not to use gravel. If you just leave the tank bare, then you can siphon up the waste food with a turkey baster, that way you dont suck up your baby fish.

How long before the fry are born? It is best to use some of the water they are born in and make sure the water temp is the same as your current tank. It will take a month or longer for the bacteria to form. I am also going to start a tank soon. good luck with your fry.

I have two ferns and another leafy plant, not sure what its called. Will it hurt the plants to leave the leaves covered with algae? or should I take it off. What harm does the algae do if left covering the leaves?

That happened to me too. The others are right, its a normal bacteria bloom. I used Aqueon water clarifier and it went away. The bacteria is too small for your filter to catch so what this stuff does is it clings to the bacteria making it big enough for the filter to catch. After the cloudiness...
