I honestly dont know! I have never noticed it before today. It's a possibility I have also thought of, as the fish dont seem to be under any kind of stress and are eating fine. It's baffling! I'll just have to keep a close eye upon them I think.

Two of my three guppies have long brown threads emerging from their bellies. One of the guppies thread is about 1 1/2 inches long. Does anyone know what this is, or why it is caused?

Unfortunatly, in the time it took me to do the tests and post on here he died. His belly was very swollen, and upon removing him from the tank I could see that the red was blood. I really hope this doesn't affect my other fish. Yes, they were hard to see, but they were sticking out.

I havent ruled out using coconuts totally as of yet, but i'm looking for a smaller alternative. But i just had a thought for if i did use coconuts.... coconuts float, how do i sink it? Same way as we do with bog wood, soak it for days/ weeks until finally it no longer floats?
