    Thank you for the comments. A hypothetical question then; I have a 4 foot tank, I cant remember how many litre's it is (around 400 i think). Can you run 2 internal filter, one at each end. Just curious, I could get one canister filter to do the job, but I thought two internals might be an option?

    I have a battery powered pump for such emergencies. Also what I find handy to have is a foam polystyrene box like they use to store broccoli in. It makes an excellent emergency fish tank if I have a leak in one, or cracked glass.
