    Major Algae Bloom!! ;(

It’s just green water. I’ll be testing them tomorrow. But don’t understand why the water changes aren’t helping the issue. I’m afraid I don’t know the light data. Had the tank for almost s year and haven’t changed the lighting system.

    Major Algae Bloom!! ;(

Thanks for the reply. Here’s a picture. Changed the water 3 days ago when it was last clear. I don’t add any fertilisers etc to my tank. I seem to have the spotted algae on the glass but not loads. I tend to scrape this off once a week when I change the water :/

    Major Algae Bloom!! ;(

Guys, I’m at a total loss here. Hope you can help. I’ve dealt with these before and have managed just fine to get ride of them. But my 200 litre Jewel tank out of nowhere has attracted an algae bloom. Despite the water changes, and adding treatments to remove phosphates from the water, the tank...

    Aquarium Salt

Thanks guys. I will be returning the unused aquarium salt, and will be buying pure magnesium sulphate Epsom salt, to give my guppy a soak in. Stomach bloat - I’m fearing dropsy.....

    Aquarium Salt

So, has anyone tried aquarium salt for their tropical tank? I’ve heard good things, and that it can be used for water changes as well as medicating a fish. But I wonder if it’s safe for plecos?? :( Anyone had any success or tips for using this salt? - API Aquarium Salt is the product I’ve...

    Sick/pregnant??

Hi Guys :) Slightly concerned about my Platy. I’ve had her for a good two years now, and she seems fine at the moment, but have noticed her belly has recently gotten ‘bigger’. I moved her into my 200 litre tank 3 days ago. Her eating and swimming habits haven’t changed and her scales and gills...

    Removing a Jewel Filter???

Ok, so it’s taken me all day to set up my new Jewel Lido 200. The only thing that is really bugging me, is the huge unsightly filter, that’s pretty wedged on with silicone blobs. Has anybody ever removed this from their Jewel Tank? I’m thinking of using a Stanley knife to wedge and just strip...

    Opinions???

Thanks Byron. You may have saved me a lot of trouble there. It will either be the Honey or Pearl for me then, with more females in the group. I’m planning on having a relatively heavy planted tank with a large piece of bogwood. Space won’t be an issue either :) :) :)

    Opinions???

Thanks so much for the above advice. It seems I have some thinking to do Can I ask: If I were to choose just one breed/type of gourami, whether it’s the opaline, pearl or honey; would a 1 male to 3 female ratio be a safe or good option? Or does it again depend on the specific breed? :)

    Opinions???

Hi fish folk! I’m now setting up my 200 litre aquarium. And I’m very much looking forward to getting two different pairs of gouramis. Firstly; I’m wanting to get some ‘peaceful or more docile gouramis’ perhaps a couple of honey gouramis and opalines? Would this be ok? And secondly; I have 3...

What Aquarium should I get? :)

Thanks for the advice. I'm actually looking to replace a 25 litre tank already in the kitchen, which I've recently acquired and my friend no longer wants. Currently there are two platys, two black widows and a small bottom feeder. The tank itself is scratched and I obviously would like to go a...

What Aquarium should I get? :)

Hi - I'm an intermediate fish keeper who's looking for a new aquarium for my kitchen. I really like the look of the Biorb Life 30 litre tank. However, I've heard mixed reviews for Biorb all together. Would any of you have any suggestions for a modern looking 30-40 litre tank that is...
