I see Tetra do a Nitrateminus liquid. I don’t like adding chemicals but I might try adding it to the tap water before a water change and test it before adding to the aquarium as an emergency measure.
Thank you. The Biorb has ceramic media which isn’t good for growing plants. I have got some Water Wisteria and a Java Fern on matting so perhaps I need more!
Does anyone have any suggestions for reducing nitrate levels in a Biorb tank? I can’t do it through water changes as the tap water is about 40ppm so it doesn’t help. My tank is cycles so ammonia and nitrite are at 0ppm bit the nitrate is around 40ppm which figures now that I have tested the tap...
It’s difficult to say as it’s not rectangular but round. I guess it’s about 18”x18”x 18”. I am going to keep a low number of fish, following good advice.
A platy has already given birth. I thought a couple of them were a bit fat! A couple of the fry were eaten but there are others hiding so maybe a couple will survive.
