Have been offered a second tank which was previously used as a marine tank. I'd like to use it for tropical so wondered what I would need to do to make it suitable. I intend to replace the substrate and filter media but anything else. The tank is a Juwel Lido 120 with a skimmer . Thanks,

Yes, Male as well, he seems to be patrolling the area.

My female krib has taken to the cave and has piled up the substrate around the entrance. Can just about see her nose ?   Any reason for this ? Don't think she can actually get out now.

  Just want to be able to move plants around until I settle on an arrangement that I'm happy with, so pots give me an easy way of doing this.

Has anyone ever keep a tank where plants are grown/kept in pots rather than substrate.   Are there any type of pot/container that are suitable for this ?   Are some plants better suited for this too ?   Thanks.

Bought a pair of rams around 6 months back and was told at the time it was hard to sex them. I ended up with 2 males and one of them became dominant and ended up harrasing the other and it died recently.   if I can't source a female is there another fish of similar size that i could add to the...

Is it possibel to mix two species of danio together that will shoal.   I had a shoal of glolight danios but lost 3 recently when the tank moved rooms.   Can't find a LFS that stocks the glolight so am thinking of adding 3 of another species .   Hope this makes sense !

The LFS has suggested using a polybox rather than bags. Is this a better idea or is it better to separate the fish into bags ?

Move is only an hour away, but could take most of the day to get moved (i'm guessing).   At lease I've got a month to try and get it all sorted.   Usually the TV is the first thing I'd look to set up, not this time though

Is it best to try and bag up the fish on the morning of the move, or can they survive overght in an insulated box ?

The LFS (Maidenhead aquatics) have started stocking these, will they provide enough light for a planted tank ?   Popping intheir tomorrow to get some more technical details.

Looking for some suggestions for some tanks mates for flag acaras. Have tetras in my other tank so alternatives to these or rasboras as community fish.   Would guppies or other livebearers be suitable ?
