    Plants and floor coverage

I regularly throw away my floaters with my regular maintenance. If you don’t mind getting duckweed along with salvinia which is my main floating plant I will send you some for free. also I cannot guarantee there won’t be any hitch hiking snails as I’ve got a lot of many different kinds and they...

    Keeping water temperature down

I remember an episode of ”King of DIY” where they were in a heatwave in Canada and his AC was out. He floated frozen water bottles in order to keep the water temps down. Fill bottles halfway, freeze and float. Also surface water agitation is extremely good for oxygenation and cooling. good luck

    Brine Shrimp as food

I hatch and feed brine to my fish and shrimp regularly. I bought the best hatchery I’ve ever used on Amazon. It does not need an air pump and there’s little to no mess. It’s round like a bowl and I use my oId halogen aquarium light as it’s light and heat source. I can have a batch of brine in as...

    Shrimp

I’m hoping they are happy. They don’t do much hiding. They’re kind of all over the place. The fish don’t bother them at all.

shrimp in a 2.5 gal tank

If your water is soft, consider doing a caridina tank , heavily planted of course and you can do as I did with a silent cycle. No waiting, just stock. if I can figure out how to load a video, ill show you what’s in store for ya or at least give you an idea.

shrimp in a 2.5 gal tank

It is doable. Amano shrimp would probably be best as they cannot reproduce and therefore no worries of over population since they need brackish water for the fry to survive. However having said this I would not do anything less than five gallons due to the fact that the smaller the system, the...

    Help Identifying Shrimp Specie

Yes, they do. If they eat carrots for example they will have an orange “line” thru their abdomen. I feed live baby brine to my chili rasboras regularly which are in my shrimp tank and they often swim to the top to catch and eat the brine. You can see the color difference from the usual pellet...

    Help Identifying Shrimp Specie

/ Based on the pics is why it looks like ellobiopsidae. I hope the OP removes it quickly or the colony could be lost

    Help Identifying Shrimp Specie

im no expert but this looks like ellobiopsidae infestation on a “wild form” neocaridina shrimp. This is not a berried shrimp. Sorry. You should remove it and either treat it or euthanize it. It may survive a formalin dip but it looks like this is very progressed.

    Byron

Sorry to hear I about Byron in this context. It would be a tragic loss to us and the world to lose Byron. Sending prayers and positive thoughts for strength and recovery. Get well <3

    What are these?

It doesn’t appear to be “live”. It looks bleached. I hope I’m wrong but I think they sold you ”dead” rock as live. Here’s an example of what typical live rock looks like.

    Could really use some assistance

As you weren’t aware of the cycling, you may not know that your beneficial bacteria grow on surfaces. While most of us want to look at a “clean” tank, I would suggest you leave your filter and decorations as they are until your tank is stable. Mostly your filter. If it is very dirty, then rinse...
