Sorry about not finding that stuff. Here in the states: we have a huge amount of the stuff in LFS and even Petsmart. Maybe order bulk from the States? Could be easier, may cost a bit though... Sorry if I'm no help.
It's too bad I live in a one bedroom with my soon-to-be wife. We don't really have any plants other than a few herbs we keep for cooking (we use the fish water for that).
I have a homemade overflow with a line that is connected to the drain near my hotwater heater. When I do my journal ill show how to do all of this so that people can see how easy it is.
I live about 200 yards away from the Snake River in Idaho, so we get pretty nice conditions. I'll start a journal the closer I am to getting it ready. Right now I'm learning the plumbing so i don't break anything! :D
Eagle is right. When water is dripping in it will not automatically replace old water. It mixes in and you slowly dilute the water until it becomes new.
On mike's question: It is coming in through a line connected to my kitchen sink; the water isn't chlorinated or has any form of chemicals in...
Okay guys, my goal is to do just that. A self sustaining tank minus feeding the fish/vacuuming.
I have a 75 gallon tank, I have a canister filter to take the junk i want out, and an Automatic Fish feeder. The tank has fully cycled using fishless cycling.
I've created a PVC overflow and I...
White fuzz usually is Ich, sort of looks likes it; but I'm not too sure if this is the same.
http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/7092-what-is-ich/
To get rid of Ich, you need to increase the water temperature slowly to 86*F or 30*C, do a water change (make sure you are vacuuming your...
Its a new tank, we didn't have room in the other tanks for them, so we had to put them somewhere. I took the substrate, plants, rocks/decor and all the filter media from the old 10 and put it in the new 20.
Before putting the fish in the new tank we used hot water and vinegar to clean it.
Ever since the crack in the 10 and we moved our fish to the 20. We've slowly lost half our fish from that tank.
I've watched the water and we are still at 0, 0, 10 water conditions. But idk why they are dying. We've lost some of our favorite and prized fish. Our family... and Idk what to...
Wow! Got off work yesterday and decided to pass out for 12 hours, didn't see this thread blow up!
I'll grab some pictures when I'm home again.
Also for an irronic situation: My wife woke me up this morning and I took her to work. She then told me that her co-worker is giving us her 35...
Cycling can take 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 months. Its all luck of the draw from my experience. We have a 2 gallon bucket for 155 gallons of water so we change the water a lot. My advice is to definitely change the water asap. do 50-80% and then make sure your water is dechlorinated.
Tomorrow do...
Yes she really does. Of course she also is really into turtles (just got her one yesterday shh) and Fresh water Eels (have no clue where to find those) and im more into... guppies :D
Hi all
