dwarf gourami, german rams You beat me to it!  :) Just make sure if you do livebearers that you stick with males... they are more beautiful anyways and you don't want to be over run with babies.

I think they prefer their own species but have read that they will shoal with other varieties too.

Is your house really cold?  I don't think the temp would drop too much in one day.  If it does start to drop maybe add some warm water every few hours?
