well its gone and plants growing nicly ... i think you get algee from too much light (on for too long) among other things...

is deffo a bummer.. im always scaning the tank for signs of something wrong for weeks after...

i decided a while back that my tank wasnt realy light enough?? so i went out and got a small aquarium light and fitted it on to the lid on the back half of my corner tank... after i had it on simultaniously (with my original light) for about 2 months i noticed small amounts of short hair algee...

hi all... rite i have a 190ltr corner tank.... ive been thinking about having black sand between 500 microns and 1000 microns (1000microns= 1mm) the reason i want it bigger is to minimise the kickup of sand as the fish swim by.. for instance if i go for silver sand which is 150 micron to 250...

they seem happy enough atm ... the smaller of the 2 still follow the bigger 1 everywhere and doesnt seem at all fazed by any of it ?? when they do there dance one will come along side and will sort of do a shake/twitch towards the other... very bizzare...

no colour loss atm.. the longer i have them the better they seem to look... as do my kribs... 1 of them has the cherry underside atm which im told is good :)

well if thats the case then cool.. i realy like these fish... will try to get a m8 to do a pic with his iphone for some better pics .

hi all... i have 2 firemouths in my tank and they follow each other every where they are colourfull and have a vivid redish orange underbelly as they should even the orange tip on the top fin... but ive noticed recantly they are gill flaring and doing an odd dance with each other ??? they dont...

why are my fm's gill flaring ??

hi i have found a Common Pond Snail - Lymnaea peregra in my tank. only seems to be 1 atm but i have slate so could be in amongst the slate ?? should i leave it or should i exterminate it lol ?? as long as i dont hurt any fish im not bothered and will let it be.. so will it harm the tank of fish...

hi there i left my tank for 3 weeks before putting anything in. the wait was realy painfull but i think its probly best for the fish/plants...

ok thx.. yeah its not cheep its gonna be like £40 or $62 to do my tank with that sand but i like the idea of black sand lol... still a little unsure about it... so im gonna have a look in to the benifits of having sand... i supose its gonna be better for the plants to grow in for a start but how...

which 1 ??? the unipac or the 1s in the links i put up ???

hi there yeah i looked at the unipac black sand and the grains are bigger in this sand aprox 1mm where as the stuff i posted earlyer is 0.2-0.5mm now im not sure which would be best ??? 1mm sand will surly settle better but is that the case ??? anyone got any knowlage on this ???
