    Whats Wrong With My Molly?

does it look like their back fins are not working Prairie?   My Molly is doing the wiggly swimming too - because it seems to not be using its back fin at all - just the two side ones.

    Whats Wrong With My Molly?

Hi All   I think my tank is probably still cycling - I do water changes every day varying from 30% to 95% depending on the nitrite levels. Currently, I have no ammonia, Nitrate is below 50, Nitrite is very low (still a very pale lilac but only just), ph is fine.   I have lost one Molly already...

    Help! Electric Shock

OK it's not the filter it's the heater.  I forgot to turn the heather off during the water change, so it's probably blown.  Am taking it out and off to buy a new one.  Checked everything else - all fine, its the heater that is the problem.

    Help! Electric Shock

Hi   I've just completed a 95% water change, which was required due to nitrite levels.  All the while the change was going on, everything was fine - I had my hands in and out of the water.  I've turned the filter back on and when I put my fingers in the water I got an almighty electric shock - I...

Do I Need A Bigger Filter?

thank you - do you recommend a particular model of external that would be good?

Do I Need A Bigger Filter?

I have a 125l tank which currently has a Fluval U3 internal filter.  Despite regular water changes, there is a lot of poo and "debris" floating about in the water, and it's a little cloudy at times - I know I have overstocked the tank slightly, so would it be sensible to go up to a fluval u4...

    Nitrite Issue

Ok - just changed 60% of the water, perhaps more - my maths is terrible.  Also stirred in a large handful of gravel  from my fully cycled tank - (checked the nitrate, nitrite, ammonia and ph of that tank first - all perfect)   Accidently tipped over the baby's tank when I was siphoning, so had...

    Nitrite Issue

right - off to do the first change then - thank you so much - will add some gravel from the other tank too - it can't hurt...can it?

    Nitrite Issue

sorry I should have said - that 20% change was a few days ago - I did two water changes yesterday, totalling about 50% to 60% - morning and evening.    Looks like I need to do the same again today then?   Also - will it be helpful for me to chuck in a handful of gravel from my other cycled tank...

    Nitrite Issue

I am still cycling the tank - i'm using a nutrafin test kit with liquid drops and when I compare against the chart on the back of the leaflet, its coming out at the 3rd (light raspberry) colour when I would be much happier if it were on the second one... sorry for the lack of numbers, the...

    Nitrite Issue

Hello!   I have a bit of a nitrite problem - I test my water daily and it is showing raised levels of nitrite each time.  There is no ammonia, ph is fine too.  I did two water changes yesterday, yet it is still showing raised nitrite.  Do I just need to keep changing the water?  The water is...

    Hello - New Here!

Good news is that my fish-in cycling is going well - just tested the water and zero ammonia, perfect PH - very slightly raised nitrite but that was fixed with a water change.  Water is clear and fish are lively and swimming well.

    Hello - New Here!

Have caught 18 fry so far.  Going to leave it at that as I can see that only one of the females has given birth - the other is still pregnant!
