Hi All   I think my tank is probably still cycling - I do water changes every day varying from 30% to 95% depending on the nitrite levels. Currently, I have no ammonia, Nitrate is below 50, Nitrite is very low (still a very pale lilac but only just), ph is fine.   I have lost one Molly already...

OK it's not the filter it's the heater.  I forgot to turn the heather off during the water change, so it's probably blown.  Am taking it out and off to buy a new one.  Checked everything else - all fine, its the heater that is the problem.

I have a 125l tank which currently has a Fluval U3 internal filter.  Despite regular water changes, there is a lot of poo and "debris" floating about in the water, and it's a little cloudy at times - I know I have overstocked the tank slightly, so would it be sensible to go up to a fluval u4...

sorry I should have said - that 20% change was a few days ago - I did two water changes yesterday, totalling about 50% to 60% - morning and evening.    Looks like I need to do the same again today then?   Also - will it be helpful for me to chuck in a handful of gravel from my other cycled tank...

Babies!

Good news is that my fish-in cycling is going well - just tested the water and zero ammonia, perfect PH - very slightly raised nitrite but that was fixed with a water change.  Water is clear and fish are lively and swimming well.

Have caught 18 fry so far.  Going to leave it at that as I can see that only one of the females has given birth - the other is still pregnant!
