I got a led light off amazon for about £10 for my 5 gallon tank works find and gives off plenty of light. It just sticks to the inside of the glass under the water but being led it doesn't give off much heat which is a big plus.
Rob I'm hoping to get the 5 foot one if the wife allows me but it might have to wait till the middle of next year :-( I was planning on just getting a external to run on it did you have to modify the hood or anything to accommodate it?
The filter is fine it's a trickle of bubbles in the background which is soothing I guess. It works well keeps the water crystal clear and the powerhead is good. The 3 lights are ok but the only problem you have to buy aqua one lights due to the funny sizes.

I'm writing this on behalf of my friend he's getting a 520l (about 140 us gallon) tank which comes with a overhead filter and 2x 300 watt heater he wants to replace the filter with a external filter with built in heater but is only 150 watt would that be enough to heat the tank correctly or...
