    Aggressive amano shrimp

Hi all, I have kept shrimp for years now and have just come across some very aggressive behaviour from my amanos. I recently added some lampeyes to the set up and it appears that one or two of the shrimp have been predating them. I've not seen this before, and did inquire with the shop before...

NT Labs Swimbladder treatment - warning

Thank you for your advise Byron, is it advisable to wait until tomorrow before I do another water change then? You are completely right when you say it is better to lose one fish than risk the entire tank, I feel awful. Should have known better. I will just have to put it down to experience and...

NT Labs Swimbladder treatment - warning

Sorry if i was a bit blunt, i'm just a bit upset at the moment. I appreciate your help. Can anyone suggest how I now go about making my aquarium a safe space again? I did a 70% water change this morning. Shall i do any more today or wait until tomorrow? How regularly should I do it? Thank you...

NT Labs Swimbladder treatment - warning

He was as big as my Harlequin Rasbora was who also passed away. The others who died were my 5 neon tetra. I shall never add any treatments like this to my tanks again. If the treatment is unfit for any fish there should be a warning within the product information and instructions.

NT Labs Swimbladder treatment - warning

Good (or not so good in my case) morning all, I had a poorly red flame tetra, there was something wrong with his swim bladder. Ignoring my instincts, I treated the tank with NT Labs Swimbladder treatment yesterday and this morning 7 out of 10 of my wonderful fish had died. I feel awful. It was...

Thank you for your post, please see responses in bold. I’ve been fishkeeping for quite a few years now, I just wondered what other people do when they have a fish that is poorly and not getting better. Thanks, M

When a fish is poorly and won’t get better

Good afternoon, I currently have a tetra that is poorly, can’t swim too well now as he appears to have a bit of a curve in his spine. Breathing gets very rapid when stressed and trying to swim in the open tank. I have isolated him in a small see through box that sticks on to the side of the...

    Anything More I Can Do?

Well he's still alive but not well at all. He eats if i hold him up to the surface to eat but i'm wondering whether i'm just prolonging his misery. I'm treating the tank with a bacterial med but no improvement. One of his gills is now inflamed and his body is curled round. I may need to be on...

    Anything More I Can Do?

Well he's still fighting bless him, he seems to be able to be more mobile when he has eaten and i've held him upright for a few minutes. The past week or so this is what i've been doing so he can feed as he finds it so hard to keep upright on his own. I've tried feeding him peas, and shall try...
