Thanks for your reply this is really helpful. We have recently added 4 Gouramis about 1 week ago so i assume this must be the cause of the ammonia spike. I am doing daily water changes and the ammonia is coming down slowly.

The temp is 27. Yes my tank is cycled. I did to partial water changes yesterday and one today and the reading is much lower. It is now reading between 0.25 and 0.5 so I will keep doing 2 water changes per day. Fish look so much happier and are acting normal

The Guppys and the tetras have started swimming normally so maybe there was something they were interested in. The Gouramis are mainly staying near the bottom of the tank and we have 1 tetra which is staying near the bottom of the tank and doesnt look like he has any evergy to swim so that...

Hi all,   I have a 100 litre fish tank with 5 Rummy nose tetras, 6 guppies and 4 honey gouramis.   I have done a partial water change this morning as i did a water test and for some reason the ammonia was higher than normal.   I am at work and my partner has now contacted me to say the Gouramis...

I did everything I could for him but unfortunately he was found dead this morning. Keeping a close eye on the other but they all seem fine nd are eating.

I wouldnt say it was after a water change. He comes out when i do a water change do to the disturbance. I did a water change last night and he continued to hid in the plant again after or just float around in the middle of the tank. I have been watching him closing to see if there is anything...

He's been in there about 2 weeks. No I can't see any evidence of anything. The other fish don't bother him at all anymore. He kind of just drifts around the middle of the tank or stays begin the plant. Sorry just read back my original post. It's the small tetra that's hiding.

Tank is 100l. I was worried he wasn't going to make it through the night but he has survived. He's not really swimming around just floating now in the middle of the tank. At times it looks like he is tilting on an angle but pulls himself back up straight.

The tank is 100l and we have just the 12 fish. It seemed to settle down after half an hour and the tetras left the guppies alone. I will keep a close eye on it and re home them if it continues.

I have tested for ammonia too which is 0.25. I put in fish food every other day

Yeah got it set up now and the filter isn't noisy at all..

I purchased this tank from cadbury garden centre and I think it's good for a first tank
