A long time ago I was at a fish store, and I saw some gravel labled "Ammonia Resistant Gravel" and "Nitrate Resistant Gravel" and that kind of stuff. Does anyone have any info about this stuff? Just curious...

I've lately been having some algae-like stuff growing in my gravel, on the glass, in the filter, and on the plant's leaves. It's also ripping apart the filter sponge. It's all brown now, with a stinky smell and looks ripped up. I've asked about this already, and was told that it was brown algae...

I have two different brands of pellets. I'm pretty sure that they are for bettas, cause there is a big picture of bettas on the label. I feed him three pellets every morning at 6:00 AM, and then use the other brand of pellet at night at 9:00 PM, three pellets. So I alternate from day to night...

The whole sponge is somehow brown and torn up. It used to be white. I think that changing the filter media would be a better idea.
