My 2 year old did the same to one of my tanks! I just sucked up and netted out as much as I could and did water changes. Still caused a massive snail outbreak, which I just couldn't get on top of. But we now have to fat Assassin snails who have sorted that out for us :)

Hi All you lovely people, I have never had a snail before and although we have had our nerite snail for nearly 2 years there is an area on his shell I'm worried about. Does this look like his shell is damaged or a portion missing?? Not sure how to help, can I give him something to strengthen...

Hmm, nothing has been changed that I usually use or added to the tank other than a plant from a retailer I usually use.... The only thing that is different was a week or two ago we went away and their clean/ water change didn't happen for a week.

Not that I am aware, should I be using one with it without Aloe in??

PH is 7, tends to hover between 6.5-7 tbh. It's a community tank with other cordies, some minnows and tetra, and I few shrimp.
