I just picked this guy/gal? up from my LFS. Was wondering if he looks to be a pure Dovii or a crossbreed or sorts. He is about 1.5” - 2” right now I would say. Thanks in advance.

Ok. Yah I just didn’t know if there would be an optimal combination to keep all the junk stirred up in the water column. The tank will be a community, primarily CA cichlids with primarily rocks.

I am going to be switching from my established 55 gallon tank to a new 90 gallon. The new tank is going where the old one is currently located. I was just looking for advice on how to make this transition the easiest. I am planning on using the gravel that is in the 55. My biggest question is...

Male or female? Gill plates tell me female but the fins seem pretty pointed like a male?

Yah I work 6-6. I’m usually able to come home around noon for lunch. That’s usually when I end up turning the light on.

I’m gone pretty much all day at work and there is no body home. Is it pointless to leave my fish light on or should I just turn it off when no body is home?
