Is it time to Euthanize my fish?

My Betta has been handicapped and unable to swim for 18 days, but still eats pellets and frozen brine shrimp put right in front of him with an eye dropper, is it time to euthanize him? See the attached pictures. The Betta is a year old and has swim bladder disorder and/or likely an internal...

    Betta Injured While Vacuuming

OK thanks for the advice and your own personal experience. I am beginning to wonder myself is he isn't going to heal or if it's going to be a very long process but at least otherwise he seems ok.

    Betta Injured While Vacuuming

So my betta got injured. See the attached pics. He's alone in a 6.5 gallon tank. I've kept fish and bettas for years and cured fin rot before but I can't cure this case. I'm at a loss and need advice. I got him in December 2020 and I assume he's around 9 to 12 months old now. He was happy and...

Betta clamped fins - don't know what else to do

Thanks. She is the only fish in the tank. Also, about 2 months ago I removed all plastic plants in case she was cutting herself on them. Now I only have smooth aquarium safe rocks as hiding spaces.

Betta clamped fins - don't know what else to do

I do have a heater. I've used 2 different thermometers to check the temp - it's 80 degrees. I do clean out, by vacuuming or using a turkey bastor, any uneaten food or waste.

Betta clamped fins - don't know what else to do

I'm not a new fishkeeper, but by no means an expert either. My betta, had her for 6 months, probably a year old, has had a mild fin rot for 2 months that I haven't been able to fully heal. Tried upping water changes, salt, antiobiotics, never fully healed. Now she has clamped fins (see pic). The...

Can Salt affect API ammonia test reading?

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, there is always a very slight green color, tap and aquarium, never as yellow as the 0 on the api card. But the green is ever so slightly darker for the aquarium water vs tap. At most, it's 0.25, which I know still isn't good. I'm going to do a gravel (sand) vacuum...

Can Salt affect API ammonia test reading?

Short question, can aquarium salt affect the reading of ammonia using the API liquid master test kit? Background: I have a guppy tank that is cycled, not overstocked or overfed, well maintained and regular water changes and the fish are doing very well but my ammonia readings for the tank are...

Fishless cycle completed - no fish - now a nitrIte spike?

That is good to know because I think everyone worries after completing the cycle and changing water, how long do I have to get fish in the tank and if the tank isn't fully stocked will the bacteria die. I think most agree the bacteria will not die, at least not anytime soon.
