Had a rough couple of days with a new tank. I set up and cycled the tank a month ago, and had been doing regular test to see how the water was doing. The ammonia and nitrites came up and then dropped back down to 0 after 3 weeks, and I have a very small amount of Nitrate, which I believe...
Great thank you. I will definitely hold off adding all the fish at once, however I was thinking of adding the Rams last only for the sake of letting the tank get established before they go in their so the water can become stable.
The parameters are very similar, the only thing is the new tank...
I recently set up a new 60 litre fish tank which is cycling .
I currently have a pair of German Blue Rams in an 110 litre community tank that I was thinking about moving in to this new tank, with 8 Rummeynose and 5 Oto cats.
I had initially planned to move different fish from another tank in...
Yeah I think I’m leaning to the Lemon Tetras at this point, really nice and can’t see any potential issues.
I would be getting one Juvenile Angelfish I think for the reason you stated, and it will also be the final fish added to the tank
Yes I have decided on the Fluval tank, I prefer the design and also the extras so going to go ahead with it.
I will definitely avoid the Congo tetras thanks for the heads up.
I’ve done quite a bit of reading and it seems that they’d be ok in a tank this size as they both occupy different areas and my Rams only get territorial when breeding.
Its a good point though and I would definitely watch for any aggression, and if there were any issues I can move the Rams back...
I am looking to buy a new tank from completeaquatics.co.uk that is to go in to a sort of man cave room in my garden. This is all insulated and has heating, my main concern will be keeping it cool in the summer months.
I was looking to go for one of the following tanks;
- The Fluval Roma 240...
I was going to have a look at ta few videos this evening, however in my LFS they had what I believe was black Veil Angelfish and these were really nice.
So at the moment the stocking would look like;
1x Angelfish
2x German Blue Ram
10-15x A larger Tetra such as Congo etc.
6-8x Corydora (Not...
I was leaning towards Oto’s as I bought some for my 30 gallon yesterday and I really like them.
in all order to avoid any aggression or angelfish mistaken new fish for food, I will add the angelfish.
Thanks you for all your suggestions, the tank is going to include most of them when I manage...
I thought that may be the case, thanks for clearing that up.
I was thinking I probably would go for a couple of Bristlenose Plecos or some otocinclus, although I'm not sure how they'd deal with the slightly higher temperature that the Angelfish and Blue Ram require.
I will listen to what you say because I don't want to take the risk, I like the idea of a sole Angelfish owning the tank essentially, and my LFS had some really nice ones so I will stick to 1.
I will then definitely add some Cory as I just want them in every tank I own. I really like the...
I did like the idea of a few angelfish, however I do want to avoid aggression as you say. Would it work if I had male angelfish only? Or would this be too difficult to determine?
I like the idea of moving the Ram to a bigger tank aswell and I will do as you have said if they do manage to hatch...
For fish stocking sorry, although noted Re. the bag of ice, I will definitely avoid doing this. I can leave a door open with blinds down to let fresh air in and keep sun off and a fan. Living in England, I cant imagine it would get too hot in there to manage.
Actually Angelfish was a thought...
