Hey all, Ive done the DIY co2 set up in my 2 foot aquarium. i have a airstone under my filter on the right side of my tank. The filter pushes the little bubbles to around half way or a little bit over. is this ok? will the c02 get to the other side of the tank to? will it all mix. crude drawing...

Newbi question, I know you have to have a ratio of 1 male to 3ish female swordtails. But seeing as platies and swordfish breed together, can i have 1 male, 1 female sword tail and 3 female platies. will that keep the balance ok? be ok for breeding etc?

Started tonight Ran out of gravel ... 20kgs of iron sand wasnt enough. Used kgs of heavier quartz gravel. Wish i hadnt but im sure itll end up sinking correct? Put in an aqual fan 2 filter and aqual easy heater. And plant LED light Its as far as ive got tonight. Will go plant shopping tomorrow...

i found a few rocks i liked the look of. i did the vinegar / acid test and it was fine. Is there anything else i need to know or check out with them? since the acid test came back fine? or if thats ok they are good to go? once i have cleaned them

could i go as far as using the sand for 4cms of depth of the sand an a fine half cm layer of the big quartz for the look?

ah yer very true! Im just trying to nail down an ok substrate. im just getting myself a bit confused.. Just have a bare tank im trying to make a substrant that give baby tears the best opertunity to grow. including depths of gravel and how much of other to put under it etc etc
