Could have something to do with the different American accents as well. Like in some regions people pronounce egg "ayg" which does bother me, but I've always said "bay-tah" so I can't really complain heh. I've heard "ayg" for egg and "laygs" for legs in the Midwest and parts of the East Coast.

The funny thing is that I've never heard it pronounced any way other than bay-tah, with a soft t. I would never have known that was incorrect. Interesting.

People say various words differently.... why should betta be any different
