Anyone know? I need it for a 10 G tank and have finally found some affordable ones --1st on ebay then pet supply stores on line. Odyssea--for like $25-30 --some including pump, and some don't mention it...I have such a green tank...Anyone know re this brand or another affordable one?

Thanks. Wendy :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

UV filters, I believe, work by running the water past a uv light. The bacteria and parasites are killed during that process. Since most of the bacteria live in the filter media and where the oxyigenation occurrs, I assume that the nitrifiying, etc., process still goes on. Now I am making assumptions. But it is a good question, and I look forward to the answers. I am not sure this is the correct board for your thread though. :p

I myself have a uv ready to install, if I can figure it all out.
