Why Is My Anubias Turned Black?

I have this problem too. At first it was brown diatoms, then it was this spotty patchy black algae. I have put some nerite snails in and hope they will clear it. But I have found that if I lift my anubias out of my goldfish tank and put them into my trop tank that the guppies eat the algae. Mine arent planted, they are fixed on bogwood, and were bought that way.
