I bought a plant not oo long ago for my tank. It has been growing vigorously but now the new leaves have turned whire and only the veins in them are green.....

what to do...

????????

Impossible to say.

How long has the plant been growing vigourously in the tank? What kind of plant is it? What is the water in your tank like? How much light do you have over the tank?

Without knowing, this is really guess work, but if the plant has grown rapidly to the surface and then started to suffer, probably not enough light, it bolted to the surface to get what it could.

If that is not the case, it could be lack of any of a number of nutrients, are you feeding it at all, if so with what?

Another possiblity is that the plant is not a true aquatic, these frequently are sold as tank plants and often survive for a short period trying to grow out of the water, but they are not capable of long term submersion and tend to become pale then rot.

most plant can keep a stock pile of the most needed elemsnt , as soon as these run dry and there is no more avalible in the water, gravel the plant would fail to grow as well as it was use to and would die off untill it reached a level of groth that is equal to amount of nutriens avalible in the current water, that is IF there is enough to sustain a positive level of growth
