Hi guys

I am really concerned about my pleco. It hasn't moved from it's current position since Sunday. I have a shipwreck in the middle of my tank and the pleco has been hanging on to it. I left it alone on Sunday, but today I tried to nudge it to see if it would swim away, but it didn't. To me, it looked as though it was stuck. Every 20 - 30 mins it wriggles about but dosen't actually swim anywhere. I was wondering if this is natural behaviour as I have never seen it act like this before.

My water stats are all ok, No ammonia, no nitrite and nirate = 10ppm and the ph is 7.6.

I would be grateful of your opininons.

Thank you

What sort of pleco is it?
If it is stuck try and move it with your hand.
Also it may have moved during the night, as this is when they are most active.
Some plecos will come out during the day others won't, that may be his/her area which is why they are always there.
And by wriggles, it could just be eating the algae, as plecos will stay somewhere, then move a little.

It definately hasn't moved and it tends to come out anytime really. It used to watch it swim about all the time, so I know something is wrong. As for what type, I am not 100 percent sure but I think it is a common plec. I had it when it was about 1 and a half inches and it is now about 4 inches. It's stopped growing for a while now so I think it has reach it's full length.

It can't be a common pleco, as they can grow very big. Is it a bristlenose? http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.abyssaquariums.com/images/bristlenose.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.abyssaquariums.com/index-16.html&h=213&w=283&sz=33&tbnid=CtYhYAFQ0RT68M:&tbnh=86&tbnw=114&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dbristlenose%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=bristlenose&usg=__6-PlTAAy6dopz_IopNFZ4HQeFqg=&sa=X&ei=adnjTYKNAoKJhQfkztDzBw&ved=0CEEQ9QEwAg
If that's what it's normaally like then thats strange, you could try tempting the pleco out with some cucumber, or some food that they like.
