Hello all, I've recently bought a nice little Betta to replace my former champ, my question is: what kind of Betta is it? I was thinking halfmoon or rosetail but not really sure... Attached a picture, I couldn't catch him with the tail fully flared though:

Thank you, a very interesting lecture, that website! I tried again to get a better photo with the tail in full flare but as soon as I'm getting near he starts to show off and swim around acrobatically :) Will keep trying anyway!

He looks like an OHM to me, perhaps an RT, but yes, we would need a photo of him flaring for an accurate ID. Or could just post a video of him flaring as well.

I don’t think the end of his tail are curly enough to be a rosetail. I vote HM.

Looks like a delta tail or halfmoon. Maybe try taking a video and then screenshotting the best pose?

Put mirror infront of him and see when he is flaring. If he has 180 spread fins then its halfmoon, if below 180 then delta tail. Over 180 then over half moon. Whatever it may be but he has nice colour
