What is this red stuff

What is this red algae/growth and should I be concerned. All fish are fine

Looks like common black brush algae, sometimes called beard by some. It is actually a red algae species, though in aquaria is can appear black, very dark brown, or very dark green. I've had this algae for years in a few tanks, but have never seen it this red, but the colour is of no significance.

Algae is not usually harmful, it occurs naturally in the presence of light and nutrients. In tanks with live plants it can be a nuisance by killing off the plants, and you don't want the organics to increase to the point that this becomes a real problem in any tank.
