What catfish is this?

Any help is appreciated! I have had this catfish for years but never could find out what species it is.

Try getting a better side view picture and also a close up on the whiskers closest to its mouth.

It seems to be a synodontis of some sort, my guess would be the "lace catfish". Many have spots while they are young but as they grow the spots fade and they turn nearly all brown/black. Mine is around 5 inches and still has some spotting, but it's faded.
