Sweetcorn is actually very difficult for fish to digest and has been the cause of many fish deaths in fishing lakes here in the UK where it is often used as a cheap bait, if the fish ingest too much it blocks the gut and the fish more or less explodes internally.

bit like us then??? didn't relise that about the lakes. i'm a fisher man myself, never herd anything like that but will bear it in mind and use it spearingly?

also i think that is pointed more at the match fishers and even carpers as they will pump the lake full of every thing by the bucket load. i'm not either, just pleasure.

Indeed it is mainly the lakes where matches are held regularly that are worst effected as the fish tend to be small carp which have huge appetites and match anglers will put in huge ammounts of bait in order to keep fish in their peg.

sorry if im crude here but if humans eat sweetcorn it comes back out whole, meaning the body takes in no nutrients from it so im guessing fish dont benifit from it either!
