Tinfoil Barbs?

Hi everyone,
I am new and glad to be here! I have a question about Tinfoil Barbs. I visited a fish store today and saw these fish. They are big! My question is, could TWO of these be kept in a 55g tank alone?

I don't think it's a good idea. The first reason is that they are, as you said, very big, and rather rambunctious too, as barbs tend to be. A 55 is very limited space for them. Even as a four foot tank, it only has a depth of 12", not offering the fish much maneuvering space. In addition it leaves you with little choice for other tankmates, as they'll be taking up most of the tank.

The other reason is that they are very tight schoaling fish, and are truly best kept this way.

Glad I asked BEFORE...lol....I was only going to keep these two together in a 55 alone, but I thought it may be to small for them....
